Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice, i like the style I didn't have any sporty pants (I would use leggings or jeans) for hiking/walking trails so I bought these ones for my tour in Cradle Mountain. The weather there was pretty cold (around 5 degrees) and had light to moderate rain. I could wear thin thermal leggings underneath to keep me warm. The water resistance worked quite well, my legs stayed dry. It probably also helped that I was wearing a puffy rain jacket that covered my thighs. I would definitely use these for future walks and hikes. The only downside I would say is that it's the smallest bit tight around the crotch area, if I went a size up the fabric would gather awkwardly around my waist when I tightened the built in belt strap. I guess its up to your body type for a good fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable This don't have much stretch but are so well cut and light. The best pants I've had. The waist adjuster/belt does not have to be undone before downtrou-ing - genius. Can do light farm jobs and wear in town. Will wear in bush and may progress to tougher farm jobs too. Would like some lighter colours for summer.

Hi, What are these like in the heat if wanting to avoid mosquito bites? (going to Northern Territory, Aus in July) Thanks

Asked by: AliEss
These pants are mostly made of nylon and are durable with a water repellent finish, the material is light so will be fine in warmer temperatures.

How is the fit of these through the thigh? Stretch factor?

Asked by: Criskers
These pants only have 3% Elastane through the material so while there will be a little bit of give they are not necessarily stretchy pants.

How much stretch is in the fabric, and particularly the waistband itself? I recently bought the trailhead shorts that are very stretchy with a wide waistband (awesome) but these look quite different.

Asked by: LizzieF
They do have a bit of stretch and they have gussets to help with easy movement as well as Articulated knee areas – giving you freer movement. They do not have the same waistband as the Trailhead Shorts, these have an Integrated webbing belt for adjusting your waistband

Going hiking now in cold weather, are these going to be warm enough as polyester. Would you recommend tight thermals underneath, or a different trouser for hiking, walking in the open countryside ?

Asked by: Tallmiss
This can depend on many factors and can highly vary from person to person. We recommend the Trailhead Women's Pants as suitable hiking trousers however if you feel the cold a lot and conditions and very cold, windy, and exposed conditions then you may want to wear a base layer underneath for warmth such as polypro or merino long john leggings.

Are these trousers high on the waist or a mid rise.

We would describe these as mid-rise.
