For light rain only.
"I've just returned from Greenland and Iceland where i was able to put the jacket to the test and i was not really impressed. I can't complain about the wind proofness - Iceland gets really windy and i never felt cold. But it's rainproof quality was disappointing. Fur light rain, it's good. On 3 occasions i experienced rainfall for about 15min and my puffer jacket underneath was wet, along the zipline. This means that water gets through the zip of the gortex jacket. Also the water doesnt run off the jacket, or beads off, therefore you the jacket looks drenched. Other travellers on my tour, their gortex jackets looked dry as the rain droplets simply beaded off. I world only recommend this jacket for light rain destinations only. But spend money on a better branded jacket if you need it for hiking in typically wet destinations⁷."
