"I wore this jacket on the Milford track in April. We had rain on the last day and I was wet right through. Luckily it was the last day or I would’ve been in trouble. It did dry out quickly but I was cold and wet, Not good for an expensive jacket."

"Unfortunately really disappointed with this purchase. Was looking for a good lightweight, waterproof jacket for the overland hike in Tasmania that would protect me and was recommended this jacket by staff in store. Was told that it can withhold up to 20mm of rain. On one of the days we had a 4mm day of rain and it saturated through my jacket. My arms were wet right through up to my shoulders, the back of my neck and partially in the front of the jacket. Very disappointing for such an expensive jacket that’s meant to be protective wear. If the weather was worse I could have been in a bit of trouble. The jacket did dry quickly once the rain stopped but in terms of keeping me dry did not perform. Unfortunately the general consensus on the track between hikers was that Kathmandu’s quality has gone down in the last handful of years, such a shame as I love to support my Aussie outdoor brands."
