Light and Loose
"I have well and truly tested these boots over a number of walks. They are a particular type of boot…very lightly built…good heal, rigid midsole with a very flexible front foot. I have had a good run with the boot but as I do more off-track walks I have found some bruising on my small toe and big toe…I thing ramming my foot into rocks and sideways walking on granite takes it’s toll. The boot is meant to be light and it is…the problem is the front is VERY flexible and on rough ground it means your toes and feet take more of the load rather than the boot. I also felt even with a special lock down tie that the boot always never feels locked down and the laces can come loose and do. I haven’t written the boot off at all as it is almost always comfortable and the only discomfort has been from the small toe on my right foot and not every walk. I generally give this boot a very good rating…maybe the perfect boot doesn’t exist but I am trying the Oboz Bridger next…hotter…heavier…the boot is more supportive and rigid and does more of the work for your foot…we will see."
