Pretty decent tent

"I bought this in 2018 during the Boxing Day Sale, and overall it's a good tent. Never had a problem with the zips, although after 8 years the stitching is starting to show its age. The flooring is still in good condition too. The two downsides would have to be the tent pegs, and the black tent poles. The tent pegs are a bit thin and bend easily, and one of the black tent poles finally snapped after 8 years. Reading through the reviews this seems to be sort of common, but I wouldn't say it makes it a bad tent. Spares are cheap enough at $10 each, and after 8 years I've got no complaints."

Not the best tent, but still a great deal

"The ventilation is poor - I'd love it to have an opening out the back. And the inner and fly are very close together, so they easily touch. You probably need a perfectly flat site to avoid this. And it's not very roomy inside - great for 1 person with a single mattress though, and easy to put up. But despite the issues, given the very cheap price (on discount) it's a good deal. If you want something you'll be 100% happy with you may need to spend a bit more."

Stood up to R & V weather bomb

"Very pleased with the tent’s performance. It was quick to put up and take down and most importantly it stayed dry inside and structurally sound in the pouring rain at R & V 2025. Nothing inside the tent got wet!, it’s also super light and packs into a small carry bag. Although it says it’s a 2 person tent we were able to fit 3 women. Recommended as a great quality tent,"

get more than you pay for

"I have had this tent now for about 10 years, maybe longer. I can absolutely vouch for the quality. In that time I have had to replace the poles twice, which are relatively cheap. But I've used it overseas, in severe winds and torrential rain (with wind) and it has worked absolutely perfectly. I've used a number of similar tents In the past but none come close to this one. The 3 pole design is great. It keeps the tent perfect taught meaning setting up slightly incorrectly or in bad terrain isn't an issue and the tent will still work perfectly."

Hi The chat bot on your website is broken - ask to speak to a person and it asks my name - then doesn't provide a space to type. I have an older retreat 40 tent and I need to buy a replacement black / roof pole for it. I can' t see that available on the site? Can you advise, please? Thanks

Can 1 person carry this tent when it's packed up/how heavy is it and how is it packaged?
While this depends on the person, the tent weight 4.7kgs which a regular health person should be able to carry.
Does this tent fit together with a retreat hub?
Compatible tents with the Retreat Compass Hub are as follows: Retreat 150, 280, 320, 360 and the Compass Hub connector. The Retreat 40 and 80 cannot connect into the Compass Hub.

  • This woven shade fabric provides 95%+ UV protection according to AS 4174.When shade fabric is used for purposes such as shade structures for human protection, the ultraviolet effectiveness (UVE) may not be an accurate guide to the protection provided and may be less than the measured value due to factors including variations in design, height and size of shade structures, stretching of the fabric, the distance of the fabric from the persons, the direction of sunlight, and the physical location of the persons within the shade structures (e.g. at the edge or at the centre.)
Care instructions

  • Make sure all parts are completely dry before storage
  • Hand wash only when necessary
  • Do not machine wash
  • Use non-detergent soap with a soft-bristled brush or sponge
  • Rinse well and dry in a ventilated area out of direct sunlight
