Bikepacked across Australia didn't let me down
"This is a great one person tent that's been around for years. I used it for a solo bike packing trip across Australia and it didn't let me down once. It withstood dust storms, rain, strong winds and unwanted visitors. There were no leaks or tears. It was fantastic for stealth camping across the Nullarbor as the colour of the tent blends in well to the natural environment. I'm 170cm and I found the space sufficient for me. It might be tighter for a taller person. I couldn't sit up in it but I don't think you can with many 1 man tents. It might be a bit heavier than some tents. However, for the price it's good value and it's reliable. If simplicity and reliability are key and you are looking at travelling light rather than comfort it's a fantastic tent."
Works well, very snug fit.
"Very easy to set up with colour coordinated poles and insertion points. Had no issues with condensation or rain, although it was only light-moderate rain overall so far. I am 193cm, so a little taller than usual, so did find it a bit small, and would probably have gone for the two man if I had my time again. But if you're just looking for a solo tent and just went to fit a sleeping bag, air pad and pillow etc, it will do the job."

Q&A
- Can the fly be used without the inner?
- You can use the fly with out the inner. Just keep in mind that having the inner keeps the fly from having minimal contact on objects, so it is at it's maximum waterproofness if it does rain. If objects are touching the fly and it rains, water could potentially get through.
- what season does it support
- The lightweight and space saving shelter - perfect for solo adventures in spring, autumn, and summer.
- I have the V1 Mono tent, and can no longer find any information about it on Kathmandu website. What is different? Is the waterproofing the same? Can V2 parts like poles and inner mesh be used for the V1?
- The V2 is longer by 12cm and shorter in max height by 8cm so the poles will not be the same measurement and therefore not be able to be used, the same would be for the inner mesh. The waterproof rating for the flysheet for the V2 is 2000mm and for the V1 is 3000mm.
- I see the advertised weight of the Mono is 1.73KG. However one of the Reviews posted warned that the true weight is actually around 1.9 to 2KG. Can you confirm the actual total weight of tent + poles + pegs etc ? The extra 250g can make a big difference.
- Our information states 1.73kg in multiple sources for the weight so that customer may be wrong with their two different measurements.
- How much does it weigh?
- This tent weighs 1.10kg when inner-pitched only and 1.73kg when fully pitched.
