The Lansan Ultralight is perfect for people who want a weatherproof, lightweight and highly-spec'd tent, not a theme park with poles. This 2-person tent is designed for light and fast hiking, cycle-touring and travel. It's simple and streamlined, with super-lightweight materials that meet our demanding performance standards, making it an excellent safeguard from the elements. Take it with you while tramping into the interior, or pack it up to explore new countries. This lightweight tunnel tent is quick and easy to set up, with DAC Featherlite NSL alloy poles. The breathable inner can be pitched on its own in fine weather, or combined with the waterproof, seam-sealed fly-sheet. An added vestibule means there's plenty of space for two people and their gear. It's everything you need, with nothing extra to weigh you down. Compare Kathmandu Tents & Shelters.

Great for thru hiking

"Great value for money. I used this tent walking Te Araroa Cape Reinga to National Park. Easy to put up and enough room to have all my gear in with me at night. Although it would be tight for two people. Withstood torrential rain multiple nights and 90km wind gusts on 90 mile beach. In my opinion the only design fault is when wet and you open the fly water drips straight into the tent."

Reliable tent

"Perfect for hiking. Easy to use. Is quite tight for two people. Stands up in high back country wind."

Paige (4/5)

Amazing product

"Owned this tent 9 yrs still great, initially bought it for a charity walk around Aus coast ( hawksbigwalk) still use it from time to time and still a great little tent."

"I love this tent. I had no idea what I was doing when I bought this tent, but I have never regretted my purchase. Very first hike it was purchased to hike Tassie wineglass bay with my sister, plenty of room for both of us. This tent has put up with me not knowing what I was doing, putting it up. It has handled pouring rain on the great ocean walk. Pouring rain and wind and stormy weather were we just had to sit tight until it stopped along the coast - Otford to Bundeena. I stayed dry as, and plenty of room to sit up and organise my gear inside my tent. This tent saw me through hot nights and then freezing -10 conditions along the larapinta, freak weather in 2022. The water was so cold the fish were dieing at north and south Ellery. I am looking for a lighter tent because I am getting old and travel solo a lot. But it’s hard to find one that reachers this tents standards and being ultralight"

Very reliable and durable

"We've had this tent for longer than I can remember and it's never let us down. Easy and quick to set up, handles extreme winds very well, waterproof. It is pretty small for 2 people and the tunnel design makes it tricky to store 2 x packs in the vestibule, but we still love. Excellent for solo adventures."

Jo (5/5)

Perfect little tent

"This tent was perfect for hiking the Cape to Cape. Frequently arrived to camp after dark lol, but managed to erect it by myself without any trouble."

Shelley B. (5/5)

Pretty reliable

"I've had one of these for nearly ten years, and have used it hiking, motorcycle and bicycle camping. It is certainly a three season tent and the tunnel entry and height are a little restrictive. I've only ever used it as a one-person tent, usually with a pack or motorbike gear stored inside which it has plenty of space for. It definitely needs regular water-proofing for wet weather camping, but has never had a failure in over one hundred trips. There a better designed side-entry tents, but this has never let me down and is still a firm favourite for my solo trips. I can't imagine, however, how you'd fit two people inside this tent."

Matthew (4/5)

Has been perfect on my long solo hikes

"I originally bought this tent to walk the Larapinta with a friend, but have since been using it for my solo hikes. As a one-person tent it's super roomy (I'm an average-sized woman) and I can keep my pack in there with me if the weather is really bad. Occasionally I get a few drips inside from condensation but it's stood up perfectly to torrential rain and wind. I always know I'm going to be safe, warm and protected. For me the extra half a kilo of weight is worth it for the roominess this tent provides. Will take it with me when I hike the Bibbulmun later this year."

Rubyjoco (5/5)

Excellent tent and value

"I have taken this tent hiking several times a year in the extreme Tassie weather. It’s kept me dry and warm. When it gets wet the floor changes to a darker color giving the impression that it’s wet but it definitely holds out the rain. I’ve endured some relentless torrential rain and it’s held up fine. Love it."

Dei71 (5/5)

Great but needs groundsheet!

"Good so far - lightweight!! haven't tested in heavy rain. However it needs a groundsheet because water seeps through with just a damp ground."

Q&A

Hi, is there a temperature range for this tent?
Hey, No this doesn't have a temperature rating. Thank you
Do you have spare parts. Namely a replacemnt fly. Mine has just been eaten by a lawn mower
Please email support@kathmandu.co.nz regarding the spare parts.
My tent bag was torn crossing a thin swingbridge. Are there any replacement bags that can be purchased?
Hi Elizabeth, This is not something that we stock in our stores , however if you are able to drop into your local store they may be able to source one of these for you.
What is the warranty for this tent? Ie for the poles, waterproof seams.
There is a 3 year warranty on all of our tents, as well as following Consumer Law in both AU and NZ.
I need to replace the tent poles.(Lost on a hard part of a cycle trek). Where do I go to find these or the dimensions of them?
You can purchase these poles separately from our website. Enter 'Lansan Ultralight Pole' in the search bar to locate these. The dimensions for the green pole (front pole) are 26.4cm The dimensions for the grey (rear) pole are 23.6cm
