"For those that are interested, we just came back from 5 weeks OS using ONLY Carry-on. NO checked luggage! After our last 2 OS holidays using checked luggage, plus Carry-on; dragging them on and off public transport; waiting in line to check the luggage on plane flights; waiting at carousels for the luggage to arrive (🤞it's not lost), we decided that time and ease of moving around is more important to us. Choosing Carry-on only was the best decision❣️ Easy check-in on flights using apps. Walk straight on and off flights, no waiting, it was awesome 😁 Carry-on limit is 7kg. Todd and I used Kathmandu Feather Flight® 40L Carry-on. It only weighs 1.6kg and is the lightest carry-on on the market I could find in Aus. Plus, we took 1 Kathmandu 17L backpack that folds down into a small pouch. This, on the way home, was placed on the floor under the seat in front of me, on the plane, as part of my carry-on (but not actually classed as carry-on as it was my "personal" bag). I should also mention, that not everything we took was worn, so next time we'll take less. 😉 This, I think, is very easy and convenient to do, especially in the warmer months. We did take a couple of slightly warmer things, just in case; plus, we wore jeans on the plane. Honestly, I wouldn't travel OS any other way now, especially if you are moving around alot. So much more convenient and so easy to move about. Our bags had 2 wheels, not 4, much easier to get around on those cobble stone streets. Plus, if you have been to Europe you know how many stairs there are, these bags were not heavy and made carrying them up and down stairs easy. We prefer the roller bags to backpacks as our poor old bodies don't have to carry the weight around all the time. Plus, they fit in the overhead compartments on planes better. 🧳🧳"
