Rated 1 out of 5 by from "The Beast" This unwieldy, uncomfortable, disastrous and frankly stupidly designed hybrid was gifted to my partner on Christmas. It was jokingly dubbed "the beast". The beast is heavy and awkwardly shaped. It flips over at every opportunity. It can't stand with the wheels "out" and flops forward. But it also can't stand with the wheels "in" and also flops forward. When being pulled by the handle it hits your heels. It's too heavy to be carried. Absolutely useless.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Handle far too small and unsuitable, after a while your hand is burning and sore. Wheels not sturdy or strong enough, when rolling the bag it tips rather easily, due to the weight and shape of the bag being disproportionate to the size of the base and wheels. Also once wheels are out, the bag must be leant or propped against something, if you don't want to hold it otherwise it will just fall. Backpack straps not easy to adjust, also cover for straps doesn't zip all the way around so often straps are hanging out, then they get caught under the wheels when rolling the bag, consequently straps get ruined. Not a very suitable pack for long term travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Design that’s One of its Kind !!! I recently purchased two of these travel backpacks because I couldn’t believe that someone at Kathmandu designed a pack specifically of what I had in mind. I was reviewing many designs with competitors for my specific needs of travelling overseas and changing from bus, taxis, suv and walking. The weight is not an issue because it is not intended for hiking but instead for travellers. The Terrane Adapt beats any duffel bag or boxy wheely bag. Suggestions for product improvements: 1. The strap cover allows for the straps to poke out if you’re not careful and needs to fit more flat into the pack. 2. The external base area by the wheels should not be fabric 3. Perhaps a more tougher fabric that is waterproof would be great 4. An accessory pack that includes a rain cover, some spare clips and patch kit would be super. 5. I hope that Kathmandu does not discontinue this product because it is one of its kind and none other can compare for its purpose. (In some of my previous experiences I had to make my own gear bags) Thank you for such an awesome product that blew my mind when I found it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good bag not great. Design issues I rate the older version of this bag better than my newer purchase. When extended the wheels on this bag put the Center of gravity all out of whack making it easy to tip. Making the base of support bigger by widening the wheel base would fix the problem but then become annoyingly wide I’d say. The old design with mounted wheels was actually quite good. If this thing had mounted wheels and a braced aluminium support on the bottom so it could stand up it’d be the ultimate bag. These two things are major let downs for the product, too big for me to recommend this to anyone. If these were fixed however, it’d be unmatched. (Maybe only by lighter bags)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't recommend for short, long-term travellers I've been travelling with this backpack for 5 months now, and

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's in clearance for a reason. Horrible bag. Got convinced by Kathmandu staff earlier this year that this was the bag design of the year and an amazing bag. However terribly wrong. Awkward to get wheels pulled out. These are unstable and the bag won't stand upright without falling over. It is heavy with the wheels- and uncomfortable on the lower bag. I love Kathmandu - however this product really has swayed my views as it is such an expensive item.
