Questions & Answers

Does this pack have an integrated pack cover / rain cover?

Asked by: Joe MC
No it doesn't come with one, but we do sell these desperately & would recommend the Pack Raincover – Large to use with this pack > https://www.kathmandu.com.au/pack-raincover-large.html

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable Really comfortable pack, used it recently for a multi-day hiking & camping trip. Harness is fully adjustable for a perfect fit and just the right size. Previously had used for backpacking trips and also great for plane travel and packs well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2-3 year old pack still going strong Bought this Overland 55L pack about 2-3 years ago (older version in red, but looks the same otherwise). Recently used it for tramping the Heaphy Track (~90km over 4 days) and the Milford Track (~60km over 4 days) carrying over 10kg contents; lots of adjustment available with the straps (shoulders and hips) found it very comfortable, no issues on these long tramps walking for 6+ hours, and easily fit enough clothes, food, cooking equipment and easy to access and pack with the zip that goes all the way down the sides. Only thing broken is one plastic buckle which I've fixed with a carabiner, but customer service offered to fix it properly if I bring it into the store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tough fabric I’ve been travelling for about 9 months with this pack (women’s). To be honest I’m a bit disappointed with it. It just never sits right and tends to pull on my shoulders. I have re adjusted this bag to every possible configuration to try and get it to sit on my hips but it never really does. I have also tried to pack it in different ways for weight distribution. I don’t usually right reviews, especially ones that are not favourable to a product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag for backpacking Currently using this on a 3 month trip around South America. I bought it as a hybrid that I could multi day hike with, although I’m not 100% convinced it would be the best hiking bag. It has a great capacity for those who want to travel light-ish - I’ve packed for climates from deep winter in Patagonia to summer in The Galapagos, and for activities like hiking and city exploring. Takes my sleeping bag, decent size towel, clothes for all of the above and a couple of pairs of lightweight walking shoes and sandals (with a bit of room to spare, although I wear my hiking shoes in transit). Took a few goes to get the fit right but feels pretty comfy when on properly. My biggest annoyance with the bag is - strangely enough - the all round zip. Whilst it makes finding stuff super easy, it has short sides when unzipped, so every thing tends to fall out when you unzip the whole way around. You’re best off using it with packing cells so that it’s easy to put it all back in, or so you can pack strategically enough to only have to unzip the top if you need something quickly/are only staying in a place for one night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, durable and light Just purchased for a backpacking trip around southeast asia. Perfect and not too hard on the back, great how it ooens right up so you can get to the guts of your belongings unlike the cheaper top loader styles. So happy!
