    Questions & Answers

I did a 12 km hike and the fizan rubber tips were worn through to the metal tip of the walking pole within around 5kms.  Are they meant to last longer?

    Asked by: Paully1960
The rubber tips are designed for protecting the metal tips of the walking poles when in storage or whilst transporting poles. The rubber tips can help grip on particular terrain, however they are not designed to be used for long distances with the rubber on as the nature of the metal tips will always wear through the soft rubber. If you want to use rubber tips all the time, to limit the noise from the metal, you can put a washer on the end of the metal tip with the rubber tip over it to enhance durability.

    Are these universal

    Asked by: Judyincanberra
These will fit a variety of different hiking pole brands (and all of our Fizan poles), however i wouldn't say that they will fit them all as some brands have their own unique tips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design I have bought 4 sets of these tips because they quickly wear out. My last set wore out on one weekend overnight walk. To help durability I insert a smaller protective rubber tip, purchased from a hardware shop, inside the Fizan tip to cover the carbon steel tips and this helps somewhat. The Fizan rubber tip is too soft and quickly wears out especially when walking in sandstone areas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First time I used them I wore through the rubber to the point underneath, someone told me to put tape on the point then the stopped, it would have been good if this was written on the packet or advise given by staff. Would recommend to friend with the above advise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I have bought the tips before and they are perfect for my needs. This time they were 1/2 price so that was a bonus.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unfortunately, the rubber tips don’t last long. After a few days’ use, the rubber gets eroded so that the tip of the walking stick drives a hole in the center making the walking stick slippery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same as the first I bought the poles on line 10 weeks ago and the rubber tip wore through in one month after using the pole for an hour each day 5 days per week. With the new tips I have inserted an extra metal washer and a rubber ring inside the rubber tips in the hope of extending their life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my requirements. Do a lot of walking and treking. Fizan rubber tips give a great safety feature.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs a risk warning + a more durable replacement I do like the fizan stick - but the rubber tips badly need a warning. They wear through very quickly and expose the metal of your stick's base. This means that your stick can slip rather than grip. My tip: pack bottom 1/4 of the rubber with kitchen foil, then insert the stick. It can double the safe (for me) two or so week product life.
