Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missed opportunity I bought this recently, as the XT garments tend to be better for bushwalking, while still looking good. However, it disappoints on two counts. For a large-sized garment that fits me in the body well, the sleeves are very tight, meaning that you struggle to be able to wear anything much in the way of a mid-layer underneath, reducing its versatility, given that it is made of Windstopper and DWR material. The value of these materials is further compromised by having the inside of the sleeves which lack both of these properties.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Cosy I was looking for a wind proof jacket or jumper with thermal properties when I stumbled upon this jacket. It was wonderful in mild conditions but I think a thermal base layer would have been advantageous on those really cold, brisk mornings. But still it was surprisingly cosy and extremely comfortable to wear with plenty of stretch and freedom of movement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super wind blocker and comfortable I bought this nearly 2 years ago now for activities in the wind and light rain and I haven't been disappointed. It stops the wind dead and it has plenty of stretch in it. I originally bought it to play golf in on those cold windy days and it does the job without restricting my swing. Since then I have hiked in it regularly. Last year I did the Tour of Mont Blanc and on those cold, windy and drissly days, high in the Alps, it was a great solution and I was always warm. It doesnt pack as light as a soft shell parker but it offers great protection and a really comfortable fit with stretch. I am very happy with it and wear it regularly walking/hiking, sporting and around the house. Note I tried this in store along with a few other similar jackets but this had the best fit and most stretch and give for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features I bought this 3 weeks ago and its been good but could be warmer, not enough insulation inside the garment, sleeves are tight so not much room for layering, a regular fleece is equivalent in my opinion

No mention of the liner. It is fleece? Thanks

Asked by: andynpepper
This jacket is lined with a type a fleece called windFLEECE but does not have a separate lining that can be detached from the outer. The outer is softshell Polartec Windbloc fabric and the lining of the jacket is windFLEECE.

Is this jacket suitable for winter bike ride activity?

Asked by: XT Pinnacle windFORCE
This jacket is windproof, breathable and able to stretch so would be suitable to use for bike riding in Winter, it is not waterproof so will not protect you from rain or snow.

Is this jacket wamer than the Malazan jkt?

Asked by: Stan2021
We don't have temperature ratings for our jackets so we don't compare the warmth however both of these jackets will keep out the wind chill and offer warmth.

I am looking for a windproof and also warm jacket/fleece to wear as an outer layer mostly in Autumn and Spring. Ideally something reasonably light than can be packed away for travel. Either this or Aysen Men’s Hooded Jacket - thoughts?

Asked by: Doubie
They will both be great options for what you've described, with similar warmth & wind resistance between them. The Aysen is slightly heavier & has a hood which will be the most notable difference.
