1. Navigator Down Sleeping Bag

Navigator Down Sleeping Bag

Kathmandu offer bags in the following sizes:
  Mummy Semi-Rectangular Rectangular
Small 72cm x 197cm
Regular 70cm x 206cm 72cm x 211cm< 76cm x 211cm
Large 72cm x 220cm 74cm x 225cm 78cm x 225cm

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, light, and compact! The Navigator sleeping bag has become a staple of all my outdoors adventures. Its warm in low temperatures, I was having to let out heat in the night in a alpine hut while it was snowing outside. It is also very compact when packed down for a sleeping bag that is suitable for a -8c temperature range. This is great when you are hiking with significant amounts of camera gear and need all the space you can get.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as breathable I got this to replace a previous navigator bag that was stolen, the waterproofing or new material has made it nowhere as breathable so feels more like being in a plastic bag if it's not open - partner had same experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 20 years and counting I bought this 20 years ago and it is still going on strong. It keeps you perfectly warm to about freezing. Much below that and it can be quite cold by the zipper. Only drawback that I see is the zipper on the bag is a bit flimsy and gets caught easily. If you are careful you are fine. My 20+ years of camping speaks for the durability. I treat it well, always keep it hung and only pack it when I am actually hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great investment We bought this 10 years ago, and it is still super warm, hard wearing and thoroughly recommend spending the extra money for this product. We certainly questioned the cost back then, but now it has proved to be a product well worth every dollar. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definately recommend Took this sleeping bag to Jamboree as a spare. An Australian borrowed it to go with theirs for 2 nights, and then used it on its own on an overnight trip down to 4 deg and loved it so much they wanted to take it home. My kids also have 1 each of the earlier version and love it.
