XT Pacesetter Water Repellent driFILL Down Sleeping Bag

Kathmandu offer bags in the following sizes:
  Mummy Semi-Rectangular Rectangular
Small 72cm x 197cm
Regular 70cm x 206cm 72cm x 211cm< 76cm x 211cm
Large 72cm x 220cm 74cm x 225cm 78cm x 225cm
Mummy

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought my Pacesetter to use in a variety of conditions, including sleeping in alpine environments, hiking, car camping, and it has been awesome! I have used it every week of the last 1 and a half, out while rafting, on sea kayaking expeditions, alpine tramps and everyday camping. Despite being a person who really feels the cold, I have never been cold when sleeping in this bag, paired this a sleeping mat and occasionally a silk liner. Would recommend to wash this bag every year for it the maintain its warmth. Have got this bag wet on a few occasions but haven't noticed any difference in performance, which is excellent! The Pacesetter's stuff sack was so large for what I wanted, but being down, I use a compression sack and it reduces it's size by a third, which makes the the difference on lightweight alpine tramps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High altitude comfort After a lot of research, I choose this bag for a 5-week Himalayan expedition where -20deg temps are common – Its surprisingly warm for its light weight and pack-ability (using a compression bag), we encountered overnight temperatures pushing -15deg’s while at advanced base camp, with no more than a thermal liner and XT base layers I was plenty comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep at high altitude. Thankfully I didn’t go for the Polaris as would’ve been too much, Pacesetter was the perfect choice, after 16 days above 5,000m my health was 100% largely thanks to this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Quality and Value I bought this bag to bikepack and carried it in a compression seat pack. The warmth for weight is unreal, and packed volume is not an issue. The night temp on our first excursion was about 8 degrees, and I had both legs and arms out of the bag - super warm! I had a call from Kathmandu after I received the bag, checking a quality fault. Luckily my bag was not in the affected batch, but I really appreciated this level of customer service and concern for customer satisfaction, not to mention safety. Well done Kathmandu!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snug in the Canterbury New Zealand High Country. Recent late winter August trip saw temp fall to -8C. Warm as toast in a tent. Extra legroom big bonus for my sleeping style. Too many great features to mention on a well thought out and designed bag. My fav is the head draw cord lock is attached to the bag so you don't fumble for it in the dark! Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels good, well made, happy. A really nice sleeping bag, a little too warm at times but zip it open a bit and all is good. I initially bought a cheaper bag but realised it was not going to be warm enough for Tasmania. I took it back and upgraded to the Pacesetter XT. Feels good, recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Got this for Christmas and it has been awesome so far! Very warm and comfortable. Light enough for the loft power it provides. Have only slept in a tent with it so far, so haven't tested it's durability re: being waterproof but the fabric handles light moisture very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and light They've improved the quality of their high end sleeping bag range. The zippers are much better than before and the fabric is of higher quality. I think it would be hard to find a comparable sleeping bag at the discounted price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snug as a bug Just had my first night in the new sleeping bag- sleeping under the stars in the Grampians. No tent, no tarp, no fly. The Pacesetter XT was great- snug as a bug in a rug. Looking forward to putting it's through its paces as the weather cools down.
