    Nowaki 32L Backpack v3 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple bag well made, well designed I considered buying the XT bag because its hard core. However this bag actually fit the bill better for a day walking bag as it didn't have to be so concerned about long term water proofing and lack of zips and seams. It takes a water blader with out-let, has good storage areas and is comfortable. On sale at around $70 it is an absolute bargain, my parents paid more than that for poorly made Carribee day packs for me in scouts in the 1980's. As per usual Kathmandu's gear is good value normally and incredible value on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected Although this is meant to be a daypack I've managed to turn it into a small three day pack and so far it has work well. Good: I carry around 14-15kg is this pack and the waist strap does a good job of taking the weight of my shoulders, but even without the waist strap I found that the shoulder straps are thick enough to not dig into your shoulders too much. The main pouch is surprisingly spacious and has a little section that allows you to organise your smaller items. The water bottle pockets are still able to fit my large military cup canteen even when the pack is stuffed full which is a good sign, the elastic holds them tight so they won't fall out. I don't use the frame so the ability to remove it was good, and I like having the option of the water bladder, although I don't have one yet. Recommendations: Personally I would have liked to see the exterior pouches be a little more spacious as I have a few small items that would just get lost in the main pouch but still need a larger area, but it all fits, albeit tightly. Also some sort of MOLLE webbing on the outside would have been good. For those who don't know what this MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment and is used by the US and British army to strap extra pouches to the outside of their packs. I would have liked to see this as there are certain Items I want strapped to the outside of the pack that I want to get access to quickly like my knife and first aid kit. So I am very happy with this pack and I would definitely recommend it if you like day hikes or, like me, are a minimalist camper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag for the every day life I got this bag around 4 years ago or more, it's still going strong today, it's had some hard use, including use when traveling all around the world, festivals, on ski fields, running, long hiking days and over the last two years, I use it cycling (commuting) every day, it's carried small and large loads, including loads which it wouldn't have been designed for.. and still going strong! Only starting to wear out on the inside.. some plastic protection is starting to fall off. Obviously I use it beyond a general hiking pack but only feedback I can give is, it's not waterproof and when it rains hard, you need a cover otherwise everything gets wet. Currently looking at buying another.. well worth the buy especially how affordable it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect pack for short holidays and hikes As someone who chronically purchases outdoor equipment, and has a number of packs in all shapes and sizes from various brands, I couldn't help myself when this one came up for sale. In addition to hiking, I do a fair number of long weekend getaways, and 1-2 week trips through NZ, Aus, and SE Asia, and was in the market for a lightweight, 30ish litre pack that was big enough to last me for a couple weeks (I am a light packer...) but also fit nicely into the cabin luggage specifications of budget airlines like Jetstar/AirAsia/TigerAir. I also wanted a pack where I could ditch my clothes and toiletries at the hotel and use it as a day pack, or for hikes/ski days, without feeling overkill like I would with my 55L pack. This little wonder has definitely held up to that challenge, and of course Kathmandu went out of their way to find me the exact color I was after, even when they ran out of stock at their main warehouse. Would love a couple more pockets to stuff things in, and places/straps to hook little things like shoes/water bottles/etc on the outside, but otherwise an amazing little pack that's quickly becoming a favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great carry on I brought this bag 4yrs ago. It has has traveled to Nz as my only bag for 1 week, usa, fiji and nmerous 2/3 trips. It fits so much stuff in. Everything is easy to access as it has 2 top pockets. Perfect as a carryon luggage travel only bag. Also for short hike trips using lightweight hike equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the minimalist traveller My most recent trip with this backpack (and this backpack alone) was two weeks across a small patch of East Asia. The pack easily fits carry-on luggage criteria and I happily carried 6~11 kg throughout my trip. With the zipper facing the back of my head, I felt that the top pocket was secure and provided ample space for various small items (medication, toiletries, wallet, phone, travel guide, snacks, etc.). Front pocket does not expand too far outwards, but was perfect for storing things that sought quick access (e.g. sandwich bag containing LAGs, chargers, maps). The backpack has a few hoops, which were handy for attaching misc. items (lock, travel pillow, etc.). Bottle pockets were secure and spacious. There's no specific note regarding whether the fabric is water resistant/waterproof, but I had no issues walking through light rain for about 20 minutes. Not too much to comment regarding the main pouch, it's as you'd expect for a backpack. There were two extra slots at the back with elastic and zip closure, respectively. I believe one of these is designed to hold a bladder? I initially thought it would be useful to place my laptop (11", ~1 kg) in a slot, but this was detrimental to the harness system (and I foolishly snapped an interior plastic hook in the process of forcing the laptop in :( ..). Placing my laptop in the slot created a rigid backing, which caused a lot of discomfort*. Only gripe is that I would have appreciated a small harness or loop to carry/attach an extra pair of shoes to the exterior. Overall, excellent build and quality. Sturdy and nicely padded. When packed properly, a very comfortable pack with enough pockets for easy access and secure storage. * I am 168 cm and incredibly unfit
