Minimising Our Environmental Footprint

At Kathmandu, we see minimising our environmental footprint as reducing the amount of waste produced, reducing our energy use, reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, reducing our water usage and increasing our efficiency.

Two examples of our commitments in this area include:

One, we are moving to offering customers a choice of paper shopping bags made from 80% recycled materials and re-useable bags in a handy size you can use and use again. Of course the best way for you to help us minimise our environmental footprint is to choose no bag at all or bring your own.

Two, we are a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC). The APC is a voluntary initiative by Government and Industry to reduce the environmental effects of packaging. It is designed to minimise the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging, conserve resources through better design and production processes and facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials.
