OUTWARD BOUND and KATHMANDU
Kathmandu’s continued support for Outward Bound stems from our desire to inspire and educate our customers to experience the outdoors and Live the Dream®. With Outward Bound’s link with the outdoors it’s easy to see why Kathmandu wanted to become involved. We see Outward Bound and their experiences as a bridge for people to discover, or enhance, their connection with the outdoors.
Busy with Outward Bound
Kathmandu’s partnership with Outward Bound started in July 2005 and ever since then we have been busy providing clothing and equipment for their courses, product testing, providing all Outward Bound instructors with Kathmandu clothing, and running our Live the Dream® Adventure scholarships.
Live the Dream® Adventure Scholarships
The Live the Dream® Adventure Scholarships are about giving Kathmandu customers the opportunity to go on an Outward Bound course and experience the outdoors. There are no prerequisites, except for basic fitness, health and a ‘can do’ attitude. You do not have to be an athlete this is about everyday people getting out into the outdoors and giving it 100%!
We were overwhelmed by the number of entries we received for the 2010 scholarships and the inspiring reasons for wanting to attend an Outward Bound course. Thank you to all those who applied and congratulations to the four winners: Robert Barker (Auckland), Alex Wall (Wairarapa), Pauline Dore (South Canterbury) and Emma Holden (Dunedin). |
